About

I began film photography back in 2012, buying a reconditioned Pentax K1000 so I could learn photography from scratch. I’m self taught, a few YouTube videos helped me load the film and understand ISO and shutter speeds, but the rest is on me.

I still use my Pentax K1000 all the time, I used it to take several of the photographs in The Mysterious City, the rest were taken with my Pentax MX, which I graduated to when I realised it was lighter to carry around with me.

I mainly shoot in Ilford HP5 and FP4, the films used in The Mysterious City, they are my preferred film stocks. But I also use colour film a lot and I hope to create an exhibition using my colourwork in the future on a yet unknown theme. My main lens is the Pentax-SMC 50mm f/1.7 and I used that to take the majority of the photographs on this site.

I am currently trying to build up a body of work with my Mamiya C220, but alas it is going very slowly.

I regularly update my Substack account with posts on my photography, the link is on the homepage if you would like to sign up. Please feel free to leave a comment there if you have any questions about my photography.

Thank you for looking at my work.
